Unexpected Happiness

You’re trying to catch

The song in your head

Hoping to mix it all up

Make sense of it

Before you’re dead

It’s another weeknight

And you can’t sleep

Mental passions override

Basic physiology

Caught up in believing

Before you’re even fully aware

The eyes of your faith turn red

Lack of rest

Absence of determination

Direction

You know, it’s really not that hard

To understand how to live

Truly human

Dirt, grunge and beauty

Billions of women and men

Walked before

They had to adapt to

Strange places

Just like this

Even more

Waits up ahead

Unexpected happiness

Everyday bliss

Ordinary touch

Of heaven

A mundane glory

A mundane glory
