The brilliant little fishes continue to dart
This way
Flippity flappidy
See the Foureye Butterfly Fish
Hanging out ’round the coral reef
They like it here
Food’s plentiful
Mates are everywhere
No troubles
Except for the predators
Still so beautiful
All the marvelous colors
Do the Sea Anemones notice?
Do the plankton realize?
How the display looks to us?
What do the fish say to each other?
What’s on their mind?
How can they move in such unison?
I’m still amazed
The brilliant little fishes continue to dart
This way
Flippity flappidy
See the Foureye Butterfly Fish
Hanging out ’round the coral reef
I could scuba dive
I could swim underwater
Say hello to the eels
The crabs, the urchins, the snails
The sea grass beds
Flower the plants
The algae spreads
Thin layers across the surface
The rainforest of the ocean
Ecosystem extraordinaire
Host to over 8,000 creatures
Astounding me
The brilliant little fishes continue to dart
This way
Flippity flappidy
See the Foureye Butterfly Fish
Hanging out ’round the coral reef
