Time edges on
I cannot dread
The victories won
By other faithful ones instead
Thy truth so deeply granted
And liberty unknown
Squandered all I did
This fate I hold alone
Dim essence of restoration
Burst of unaided light
Still calls and pulls
Within this hideous night
But what of my gain
Its reckless freedom drove
My heart into the open streets
This soul completely froze
Adventure and caution
Two weights I walk with now
Naive trust in Man gone
My hands grip hard the plow
Future, challenge
Evil stands unabashed
Countenance, fortitude
Immortality must in this life last
Cleansing, renewal
The skeptic’s dream inside
Time edges on
I no longer need the lie
